Serving the Defendant
Other Paralegal Services February 15th. 2008, 10:55am
In a small claims court case, it is the duty of the plaintiff (or the plaintiff’s legal representative, such as Legal Action) to personally deliver a copy of the claim to the defendant. Personal service ensures the appropriate party receives the claim.
Alternative methods are provided for by law in case such a personal delivery is not possible. These alternative methods will be covered in future posts, but until then, if you have any questions, please contact us and receive your free consultation.
